I found a new use for airplane mode.

at work at the backside of the institution I have trouble with edge going out. it would give me the safari cannot find browser message after about an hour. I would do a hard reset and wait ten minutes for it to come back. I just tried putting the phone in airplane mode and then taking it off and I am back online in about a minute.

its when you restart the springboard.

done by going into summerboard, clicking reset springboard.

Apple recommends that if you have any problems with the network connection be it WiFi or Edge that you turn on airplane mode for 15 seconds and turn it back off. They recommend you do that before you do a restart....Read that on the website a week back or so. He might not be jailbroken so this is an easier way.

well im just sayin that the way you said it was like he was supposed to know what you were talking about when you assumed he had a jailbroken iphone. correct me if im wrong but you cant access the SMB preferences with a factory iphone..
