hypothetically speaking.....(2.0 software)

lets say with monday being the big day, obviously everyone is excited about the new iphone coming out. i personally am more excited at the present time about the 2.0 software that everyone seems to forget. so lets assume this, say the software is released on monday along with an app store. it seems we will have to update to 2.0 and bam we can start doing as we please. i have a jailbroken 1.1.4 iphone right now and have it working great with tons of sweet apps. i will have to use timecapsule obviously to back everything up, but how long are we looking at until 2.0 is hacked roughly? i got into iphones a couple months ago and have been learning a ton thanks to this site. want to enjoy 2.0 along with ziphone before i decide if i will get the new iphone as well. post up any ideas you have about this, thanks.

I would say it'll take four or five days tops. You've got to remember that the beta has been out all along, so the guys that hack the firmware have been looking through it already. Surely, Apple will have some blocks in there, but it'll get hacked within days anyway.

Yea,I read somewhere (can't find the article now) that this firmware would be hack proof. Where have we heard this before? I would say give it a week and you jail breakers will be good to go.

hasnt 2.0 already been jailbroken, well the betas that have been released to the developers

The beta version may have been hacked, but the final release will be a little different probably. What ever the case, it shouldn't take too long for someone to figure it out.

ya i know the final release will be slightly different but what i meant by that is that it will probably be jailbroken very fast since it will popbably only require a few tweaks

I would think you are right. It doesn't take these guys too long to figure it out.

That is my exact opinion too.

2.0 is already fully hacekd, the way it's done is by comparing bit differences and looking in the code for different variables. Not too hard anymore really. Baseband is a different story.
