How to remove your phone Number

Does anyone know how to remove your phone number from the iphone . Want to sell my old one and erased it and restored it and jail broke and unlocked it but my number is still in the phone . I saw somewhere saying that you have to call att but im not sure . Also you think it should be securely wiped ? Thanks for the help

You have to talke the Sim card out...

I got it to work . I erased it and jailbroke it with my sim card still in . I took it out and did it over and my number is gone
