Default How to identify the firmware

I have a brand new 8gb unopened. Is there a way to find the firmware by serial number or by other numbers that are listed on the back of the box?

I don't think so no. You can look in settings though.

You can take an educated guess. I believe anything after week 45 is going to be 1.1.2 OOTB. There is another post in here about reading the serial numbers off of the box.
