This is a discussion on How to change how long your iPhone rings before calls go to voicemail within the iPhone forums, part of the Apple iPhone category; Originally Posted by macgirl thanks! how much does at&t charge for ringback tones? what are you going to pick? The ...
The ringback tones are actually really well priced. You have to subscribe to the actual Ringback Service which is only $0.99 per month (negligible) and then each ringback tone is $1.99 which is still a really fair price. The tones you pick last for 1 year after the purchase date and then expire (which I kind of find odd, but it's not expensive, so it's worth it). The really cool thing is that you can assign different tones to different callers or groups of callers. For instance, if I know a few friends really like country (blah) and other like rap, I can make two different playlists for each group.
I've only purchased 10 or so as of yet, but I have "Crank That" (it was a necessity, because I hope at least one person calling me is foolish enough to do the silly dance while waiting for me to answer) "Kiss, Kiss" and "Low" by Flo Rida and then some random Rock and Country songs.
Brilliant! I set up both phones (me and the Mrs.) for 30 seconds. The number the phone calls were both the same. Could it be they all call the same number for voice mail?
It beats calling customer service, and having them twiddle around for several minutes before they figure it out. Thank you so much... I am going to try and increase the ring time up to 60 seconds now, let's see what happens.
I just tried going higher than 30 secs, it won't allow... Unless there are some additional 'hacks', half a minute is the maximum.
I know this thread was started last year, but since it was recently revived I saw it and wanted to say thanks to macgirl for the tip. I just set my phone for 30 seconds. Very easy!
This is good to know.
Well, this is an old thread that's been revived! It is still useful information, though - when I got my 3G iPhone, the upgrade from my V1 iPhone must have reset the ring time to whatever AT&T's default is, though, and I did need to do this again to reset it to 30 seconds...
Thanks for that information. It works great.
I have saved this number under contacts as Ring Number and with three different telephone numbers for 10, 20 and 30 seconds !
So it becomes pretty easy to change the number of ring tones.
I really wish that it was longer than 30 seconds though.
