if apple plans on selling the phones at their stores and then having you call AT&T when you get home to activate it, how are they going to verify your credit? what if you buy the phone, take it home, and then get denied service because of bad credit? are you stuck with a useless chunk of metal and scratch resistant glass?

If you are concerned that your credit won't pass muster, you should go to a corporate AT&T store and have them run your credit.

I wouldn't run out and buy something this expensive if you're worried your credit won't be good enough to get a contract.

But yes, if you are worried about it, I would go to AT&T instead of an Apple Store.
