How about the speaker on the iphone?

Haven't heard much about this, but has this been in any reviews? I hope the speaker on the iphone is loud and more importantly clear. My friends samsung phone's speaker plays songs loud and nice and clear. My other friends Blackberry speaker is kind of shitty when playing songs. I'm less concerned about the speaker for calls and more so for songs. I guess this isn't something I'm going to be able to judge until i hear it for myself tomorrow.

It will prolly get the job done. I wont be using the speaker much for music i would be using the ear buds.

but it would be nice every once in a while to just lay it down and play the music

All I heard so far was Pogue from NYTimes said the speakerphone was lousy, dont know if this applies to music or audio other than phone audio but I doubt it can be much better....

Yeah i heard the speaker phone etc was pretty weak. But i mean you have to have some compromises. If Apple want to make the device smaller than the competition, it means miniturising more and wasting less space. Sorry to say it but small speakers = less noise production =/

Doesn't surprise me that it's weak. When I saw the 20 min video of the iphone and saw the speaker location, the first thing I was reminded of was my PSP.

Yea, seriosuly tho, the size of the speaker looks like it is slightly bigger than an earbud!
