Default Home button getting stuck issue

Greetings!
In the last couple of days I've noticed that the Home button is not as sensitive as it used to be. I can still hear it physically "click" when I press it, but sometimes it takes two, three or MORE times until the home screen actually shows up. The phone has not been dropped or exposed to water or any unusual environment, I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing this?? (I even tried a soft/hard reset to see if maybe an app was stuck or something but it still is having the issue)

If you have an Apple Store in your area, I would make an appointment and have them take a look.

Yeah at this point visiting an Apple store would be in your best interest. Make sure it's clear to the Genius that you haven't dropped the phone and that it is a hardware defect.

Good Luck! The things that may seem so insignificant or small, can turn out to ruin the whole iPhone/iPod experience

Before you freak out, why dont you try just restoring the firmware. You said that the button still physically "clicks", right? Try restoring first...

...then you can freak out.

Restoring solve everything! If your phone is freezing up restore it, if safari is not working restore it, if you shatter the glass and dent the entire bezel back... you guessed it restore it, Lol!

Hi guys,
I've attempted the restore, (thanks for the suggestions by the way) and unfortunately the problem persists. Ugh I don't get it though cause physically there seems to be nothing wrong with it, like I said in my post, I can still hear it click and feel the button being pressed. In another thread someone mentioned something about the apps starting "really slow" because it was full (i.e. not much memory left on the phone, and I noticed mine is pretty full) I'm wondering if this could have something to do with it...

no its not any promlem with your software its the actual iphone get it replaced. i had the same problem iwth my first iphone last year so i know how annoying this is. but i kept it for a while before gettin it replaced and when i finnaly did they almost didnt give it to me becuase i had some dents on it so replace it ASAP. good thing this isnt a widerspread problem cuz your the only othe person ive ever heard having the same problem i had.

i know its the same exact problem
-sometimes it doesnt even wake teh phone when you press the home button unless you press it hard or multipul times.
-9 out of ten times you cannot open the playback controls by double tapping the home button

same thing right?
the apple workers that you show it to will recognize the problem right away the first time they try to press the home button because theyre so used to pressing the home buttons cuz they do it everyday at work so theyll push it like they normally do and it will not work.

Thanks for the post, I thought I was going crazy! It's a real pain and it seems to be getting worse, so I'll follow your suggestion, I'm going to attempt to get it replaced hopefully it goes well...

If the button is malfunctioning, I'm sure they'll exchange it without a problem.
