Default Help it's getting bigger...

Hi Guys, if anyone in the world can help it will be you. I have June 29th 2007 <Steven Jobs laughing> generation iPhone. $650 worth.

In my contacts under the letter "U" the name "UNKNOWN" keeps appearing and the number grows larger by the day. There is close to 200 of them at this point. When I sync with Outlook Express any new contacts made on with the iPhone are included and vis versa, however the giant list of "UNKNOWN" is not put in my Outlook Express database, nor is it wiped from the iPhone.

If I open one, they are ALL e-mail address of known people, most of which are already in my contacts...... What gives? Anyone had this happen? Is there a way to delete other than:
Open>
EDIT>
Delete>
Confirm>
Delete>
Next Item.....(snore)

Mega Thanks for any help!

ps.... i'm using iT 8 iP 2.1
