About the only way I can think of for a Canadian to get an iPhone would be to have a friend in the US in whose name you can get the service and have the bill sent to them. Probably not very feasable.
I suspect Canada will get the iPhone by January. Probably announced at MacWorld. I can picture Steve on stage now, "iPhone has been a phenomenal success in the US. So far we have sold umpteenbazillion iPhones! (Applause) And now we are going to expand into Canada! (hoots and holllers.) and the UK (people start fainting) and soon we will take over the world!

Nope. They wouldn't sell it to her or set up service with a Canadian address. Even if she lied about the address and then just used it in canada, they would eventually discontinue service due to her constant roaming off the At&t network. That's some of that small print that nobody ever reads in their contract.
