i've been meaning to restore and re-jailbreak for a while, and being that today i didn't have any classes or work, i went ahead and did it. it restored fine in itunes, but quickpwn froze right after the iphone went to DFU... so i had to force quit it.
now quickpwn doesn't recognize it, and when i put it into DFU again (and again), i get this error mesage: "An ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. An unknown error occurred (2001)."
any ideas...?
Go ahead, quote me. I dare you.
Hmmm, on Windows I would say to try repairing the Apple Mobile Device Driver. Not sure what the equivalent on Mac would be...![]()
ironically enough, i tried restoring it on my Windows 7 installation, and it worked just fine.
go figure.

I'm not saying a word.
Imnot into jailbreaking and stuff, but why not just connect into iTunes?
turns out this is a well-known bug with 10.5.6... devteam figured out a little kernel patch that did the trick.

Yeah I forgot about this when I tried unlocking a friend's iPhone the other day. Looked like an idiot.
