Got my iPhone and it was almost too easy!
I arrived at Stonestown Mall in San Francisco around 8:00pm. Walked to the front door of the Apple Store where they asked me if I was browsing or purchasing. "Purchasing", I replied.
I was instructed to go either to the Genius Bar or the checkout line in the back of the store. I never even made it that far before a nice associate asked if I needed help. I told him I wanted to buy an 8GB iPhone. He grabbed it off the very well-stocked shelf, used the fast-pay device to ring me up, emailed me my receipt and I was back on my bike within about four and a half minutes. I'm so glad I didn't wait in line all day.

Holy crap. This thing is an engineering miracle to me. Nice work Apple!
But...Ugh, still waiting on my activation. Many of you can relate
