Fix for Edge Blue Box
Add this to installer source http://users.tpg.com.au/gillnsg/repo.plist
Then refresh and go all packages and go to Apps Starting with G and it will be there. Its called GPRS icon mod

Have we found out why it will switch from the normal Edge icon to the bland blue box? Is it a difference in signal strength or having a signal or not. Know what I mean? There has to be a reason there are different icons.

Actually thanks for jogging my memory. I just did a search and it is the bland blue box when it is using GPRS and the E is naturally when it is on EDGE. Thanks for the 411. Running "fix" now.
