Default According to AT&T Docs

According to AT&T documents for employees the launch of iPhone is Jun15-Jul15h. Pretty much means all the retail stores will be receiving them within that time period. I vote it WILL be released Jun15th.

Yeah but there can still be other delays. Software issues etc from apple. FCC just means the hardware passes and is ready to go.

I bet that within two weeks, Apple will announce the launch date for the phone.

I'm betting on the same date. There were rumors of delays, but if they come close they will still come later. No company ever released anything on time (in my opinion).

My take is Engadget had a trusted source and ran with the story. They are often first with this type of news. The biggest surprise was the impact they have on the market. When a blog can affect $4 billion in Apple stock, that's amazing. This site certainly doesn't impact stock prices, but still the same I want to be sure we label all stories correctly. Going forward, there will be a new category for rumors. For example, we recently ran a story regarding a potential release date of June 29th (which I still think is going to be the launch day). That story is speculative in nature and would have been put in the "rumor" section of the site if it had existed. In general, I've tried to keep my sites free of rumors. That being said, many of them turn out to be true and are "newsworthy". EI is a year old. Without rumors, there would have been nothing to report all of last year. This new section will allow reporting on rumors and more importantly carry a label designating it as rumor.

I agree rumors are rumors. But investors are dumb for pulling out even if the iPhone gets delayed. No matter how you look at it, the iPhone is already a success. It got what no other phone can get on the market, which is instant name recognition and marketing. Everyone knows what an iPhone is and even the people that hate it before it's released will still want to take a look at it.

Comes June, if I had the money, I'd invest into apple. The only way they can screw this up, is if they lied about the iPhone features, and it's slow and useless, but knowing apple; that won't happen.

I think that it was hedge funds playing this stock again. They prolly paid someone at Apple to make this fake memo.
