I thought it was from original date of purchase. Think about all the Xbox 360 people that had their consoles replaced , and eventually their warranties ran out. They had to pay out of pocket for repairs afterwards. I know it's a different company altogether.

Apple backs each iPhone individually as a new purchase?

If so that is hard to believe, but above and beyond any company's customer service I have ever heard of.
