Default Does 2.0 compress iPhone files?

I can't explain this, but since upgrading to 2.0, I seem to have more free space on my 8 gig, v1 iPhone. I believe all of the same photos, music, videos, etc. that were on the phone with 1.4 are still there. I just seem to have 2 or 3 more gigs of free space than I did with version 1.4.

Does 2.0 compress files to free up more space?

Has anyone else noticed this on their 2.0 phone?

Maybe it notices duplicates and deletes them. For example you may have a picture in your camera roll, in your iPhoto library, and in your contacts. Instead of saving it as 3 photos it may keep it as one.

That can help it a little..

im sure it does some sort of file management because remember how you only had 300mb of app space in 1.1.4? they had to change that in some way

i doubt you would get a gig free from that though

That has been moved. Go to Settings-General and you will see it.
