Default disable emergency calling?

[edit: off topic, but wtf is this google thingy that keeps showing up at the top of my posts?]

i know a lot of new phones have this "emergency call" feature, which is very useful, but it could have negative effects if you lose your phone, in terms of your bill. I understand the fact that you have to compromise 2-3 seconds in an emergency to unlock the phone, but in my opinion i'd rather get rid of that emergency call button.

Anyone?

I thought the iPhone allows you to only make 911 emergency calls...

Edit: Nevermind...just checked and it did allow me to make other calls besides 911.
