    You can't just jailbreak to use other carriers; it
    must be unlocked as well.

    One more question though, if I uncheck a lot of my music for my old EDGE iphone, will those songs still not sync on my new 3gs ?



    Edit- I plan on giving my old phone to my daughter for her to use on our WIFI and she wants to dowload apps, thus the need to get rid of a good chunk of my music library.

    Stick a paper clip in the hole on the top of the phone. The sim tray will pop out, and the card will be with the tray.

    If you have a 3G for example and you decide you want to upgrade to a 3GS, you can plug the phone straight into the computer which you use and sync the information across. It's that simple.
