Connecting to the internet...

I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and I'm using Shaw as my internet company. I want to connect my iphone to the internet so I could use it, through wifi, but it's asking about a password and I've tried every password I know and it's still not connecting. My question is what kind of password does my iPhone needs to connect through wifi? I have wireless connection.
