Change springboard background

I read on Engadget (i think) that there is now an option to change the springboard background. I havent updated yet but played around with my friend's 1.1.3 iphone and couldn't see anything like that.

Have you guys been able to change the springboard background with 1.1.3?

That the only thing that makes me NOT want to update. I have a killer design on my iphone with customized dock image and everything. I don't want to lose this.
Apple, come on, give me the ability to customize my iPhone and I swear I will never jailbreak my phone again

hahaha!That's funny!i have 1.1.4 can i change it?customize still drives me crazy tho!
