Default can you downgrade from 2.0 to 1.1.4??

can this be done, or once you go 2.0 you cant go back to 1.1.4 because the phone is back to being locked and jailed?

Yes you can. There's another thread here, and someone just did it.

Yes you can downgrade. You need to uninstall iTunes 7.7 and download a copy of the 1.1.4 firmware. Here is a helpful link:

I have a first Generation iphone. I bought it at Tmobile already unlocked. Last night on the new version itunes, my phone is locked. It wants a new code or sim card from AT&T or something. Is there anything I can do?? Help

I just downgraded and I'm glad I did. There were too many problems with lagging apps and battery drainage. Besides, I plan on selling mine after I get a 3G and 1.1.4 makes it more desirable because you can unlock and jailbreak it.

The process was a little scary because it gave me one of those big "There was an error" screens (not small dialogs) in iTunes but I used the modified ZiPhone to downgrade the baseband, then used the non-modified ZiPhone to put it in Recovery mode and restored 1.1.4 from there. Once that was done, iTunes (V7.5) asked me if I wanted to restore from a backup I made on 7/10, before I did the 2.0 upgrade. I did the restore and now I'm back to where I was before 2.0. I'm happy.

I did, but its more than just downgrading the software. 2.0 re-writes the base line to like 4.6 or something like that and you need to go back to 3.9 that works with 1.1.4, that isn't included with the downgrade. It was a PITA yesterday, but we got it to work. I guess if you don't downgrade the base code/line/whatever, you can make calls, but can't receive them....
