Default Can I Use My Blackberry SIM Card

I currently have a Blackberry Pearl with Cingular/At&T. Is there any chance I can take my SIM card out of my Blackberry and put it into the Iphone?
If so, do I need to activate it?

Also, if this can't happen then, since I just got my Pearl a month ago and signed up for a new agreement, I guess I will be forced to purchase the Iphone on a new agreement (in essence having two phones).

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Mike

you don't have to have a new line of service--just sign a new two year agreement. Your SIM supposedly will work in the new iPhone, but your contacts will not transfer. You will have to get an iPhone data plan and drop your BB plan. Although with all of that said, it's best to just utilize the SIM that comes preinstalled in the phone. Yes, you'll have 2 phones, so I suggest selling your BB or having a family member use it instead.

that part is easy...just goto companionlinkpro (google it) and I believe they have a trial offer. you can then transfer all of your contacts/calendar/tasks into Outlook on a PC or for those mac users, use pocketmac for BB. Just transfer your SIM contact to the phone then from the Phone to Outlook via companionlinkpro

According to DAvid Pogue you can, but all the features won't be functional on the iPhone until you activate the SIM card in it. IF you use the same number as your BB, then your BB's sim will be deactivated.

YOu might try slipping in the BB sim before you activate the iPHone to see what works and what doesn't. If everything works then make sure to tell us. If everything doesn't, then you'll want to put back in the pre-installed iPhone SIM and activate it through iTunes just as instructed.

I've got a feeling that some of the functions will not work until you activate the iPHone through iTunes.

BGR has posted the AT&T manual which addresses this very problem.

You can transfer all of your contacts from a BB to your address book if you have a mac via bluetooth. You just need to sync em up and transfer your contacts in. It's about the only thing you can do.
