Default apple dock connector female to male cable...do they make these?

i'm looking to run a female dock connector from my dock, to a male dock connector on the other end to my phone for use in my car, so i can get charge and line out to my phone and hide all the connectors except for the final male connector to my phone.

like this:

dock>>>female connector....(cable)...male connector>iphone

hope this is clear.

does anyone make one of these?

thanks

I haven't seen one yet, but that doesn't mean they do not exist. If you have an aftermarket head unit, I would visit the website that manufactured your head unit and see if they have come up with anything yet for the iPhone. I have read articles stating that major manufacturers are busting tail to get accessories ready to plug the iPhone into their units. What kind of head unit do you have?

I have looked alot for a solution to this and I have yet to find one. I can't believe an adapter is not out yet for this. Seems like this should have been one of the first adapters out. (audio/charging capabilites all in one plugged into the bottom of the phone) My thought is patience will pay off on this one. I know I have no desire to plug in power to a cigarette lighter AND have to plug audio into the top. Some people are saying the ones they used with their i-pods are working to an extent, but I will wait for one designed for the phone.

"I know I have no desire to plug in power to a cigarette lighter AND have to plug audio into the top"

i'm with you on this one. i used a sik imp for my ipod and it worked fine. but my ipod died shortly before i bought the iphone and i can't justify shelling out $250 just because of this shortcoming on the phone. i currently "plug in power to a cigarette lighter AND have to plug audio into the top" and i guess i'll have to live with that for right now.

ordered a proclip mount and hopefully that will make things a bit less painful.

thanks for your response.

well i found one, but it's $65 and the cable appears to be very thick:

but where there is one, there is probably more.

let's keep looking.

that seems to be what you were looking for. I'm looking for hardwired from headunit adapters.
