Default Apple certainly f'ed up!

Releasing 3G and 2.0, on the same day, was obviously a huge mistake. Now, hundreds...perhaps thousands...are without even a cell phone because of it.
BIG oooooops!!
They should be in the process of borrowing servers from nearby Skywalker Ranch and Pixar! Okay, they're not so nearby but...still.
Oh well, I'm glad I decided not to buy a 3G. The less money in Apple's pockets makes me feel better about all this.

I think it's more in the hundreds of thousands. Don't feel bad. Apple is getting raked over the coals all over the world today. BB and MS fanboys are laughing that heads off.

Yup, it will be the defining news of iDay2, unfortunately. Not the ridiculous number of sales they're doing.

Anyone wanna place bets for them going over a million units today? I think it's possible.

Yes, we are with you in your rant, get it all out, it's not healthy to keep that anger inside.
In truth, they should have released to v1 yesterday so at least there would have been less upgrade traffic today. Sometimes I don't know what these geniuses of such technology thinking.

Hype can work against them, but I'd say overall it works much more for them. Hard to blame them.

Maybe not if you count only the actual number of units available at the stores today. Out of close to 50 people in line at the Frederick AT&T store, less than 15 units were actually on hand.

IMO, Apple screwed the pooch on multiple fronts. Sometimes arrogance gets rewarded by a strategically placed kick using a pointy shoe.

Sometimes I think Apple gets just a little too full of themselves. IF they didn't have to be so dramatic about everything, it would be a lot better.

Absolutely, Connie! Nice name, btw. Perhaps even as far back as Monday (7/7), they should have released 2.0 for...oh, I don't know...those who shelled out a heckuvalot more for their iPhones than what's being sold today.

Monday would have been perfect. They should have done press releases and commercials to commemorate it too. That way the servers wouldn't be jammed with updaters and activators on the VERY SAME DAY!

I don't think I would have wanted to use any form of 2.0 that would have come out before today. I get the feeling they were working on it up to the very last minute.
