Default Announcing iPhone 6 months early was brilliant

I have just been continuing to read some of the 551 articles about the Iphone I have collected so far. There is much speculation, much negativity and much confusion as to what the iPhone is and is not. Some competing cell phone comanies apparently feel threatened (and rightly so) and are lashing out with all sorts of FUD (IMHO). Here is one of the most recent articles that puts things in perspective:

Becoming an iPhone Believer - Businessweek

My feeling is this: Steve Jobs deliberatly announced the iPhone in advance so he and his staff could analyze what the public and press are saying. Understand that changing the iPhone's features is very easy from Apple's standpoint. I am quite sure that Apple will be listening and molding the iPhone into what the public wants in the next 6 months or so. That being said I am quite sure that everyone will not be happy. But then look how crude the first iPod's were when they first came out.
