Exclamation ALMOST back to life after water damage

yeah... iPhone took a swim. Anyway, it's been drying in a bag of rice for days, and I decided I'd give it a shot at restoring today. For a while, the backlight wasn't working properly - but it popped on eventually. The touch-screen wasn't responding, but I really can't tell if that's functioning now, because I'm stuck on the boot screen after a restore. I've attempted to restore a few times, and each time it restores, it would ask to restore again, and again, and again. Now, it's stuck. Ideas?

The restore was attempted in DFU mode btw. Should've mentioned that.

You could give it a couple more days in the rice bag, but if it fails to boot after that, Apple will replace it for $200.

FWIW, I'm not very hopeful here. Trying to turn it on before a seven day rice bag retreat often fries it.

It's been in the rice bag since Monday, so 4 full days. It's now off of the boot screen and going through the whole restore process again (apple logo with progress indicator). Would it do that if it was fried by the water? I think it's doing just enough to tease me and give me false hope. Stupid phone. Stupid toilet.

I know it's really, really hard to do but I think you jumped the gun a bit. A few more days would have worked in you favor. Now that you have tried to fire it up, I have little hope that it will work. But you got nothing to lose, so put it back in the rice for a few more days and see what happens.
