how many more songs and videos can you hold on the 32 compared to the 16
if i only plan on putting way under 100 songs on it should i just get the 16? or would the 32 to be nice to have for resale value

They both hold their value well. I got the 32 because the phone does video recording, which uses a lot of space. I had hundreds of songs, 50 or so apps, and a few movies on my 16 GB 3G and still had lots of free space.

If you main requirement is 100 songs the 16 is just fine. I subscribe to the "get a little more then you need for room to grow" mentality and would still recommend the 32. You will have the phone for 2 years (theoretically) and over time you might see the size of apps growing. The extra space will be peachy in that case.

I have 768 songs, about 65 apps, and 3 movies. I still have 7.2 GB free space on my 16GB 3G.
Honestly, I went with the 16GB 3G phone because I was close to using up all the space on my 8GB phone. I prefer to have at least 2GB free no matter what for the OS to use as a swap file and to help prevent crashes from full memory.
