I know Chris is not offering a page on iPhone wallpapers yet, so you might want to look here for a wide variety of them.

Edit: I did find a place on EI where you can download a couple of wallpapers, but there's really no place to view them. I'm sure Chris will get one up eventually.

How can I make one using an existing picture on my mac. What are the dimensions needed and what program do I use to change the size?

According to the tech specs of the phone on the apple website...the screen size is 320 by 480 pixels.

Another idea, is you could take one of the pictures that someone posted and save it to your computer. You can paint over it in Photoshop and then just drag and drop your picture.
