If you've already jailbroken your iPhone then summerboard is the best applicaton for allowing the wallpaper to be shown on your home screen background.

I do not have jail break and have 1.1.1 installed on my iphone.

if you want to stick with 1.1.1, you are currently out of luck.

To do this, you must first downgrade your software to 1.0.2, then jailbreak your phone, then install apptapp, and then install summerboard.

Oh dang. As of right now (already been said but reinforcing) there is no way to get your wallpaper to appear behind the icons, at least not to my knowledge. I wouldn't imagine it will be too much longer before you can get the wallpaper to appear the way you want though, it's now just a waiting game.

that's true ..you cannot get your wallpaper to appear behind the icons if you are using 1.1.1 firmware . it gives you 2 choices: first is to downgrade to 1.0.2 (jailbreaking things ) ..etc. and the second is to wait until 1.1.1 being hacked by dev team which is until that time arrive sorry no wallpaper behind the icons
