How to? - iPhone 3G

I'm sorry but I'm new at having my phone Jailbroke. I have figured out most of the things but I'm having trouble transferring the wallpaper I find on this board to my phone. Do I have to sync the photos or is there a way to get them on my phone and use them in summerboard or "Customize 2". I have tried to search the forums but can't find anything. Thanks.

An easy way to do it if you have a Mac is to drag the wallpaper from the forum to your desktop. Open up your SSH client (Cyberduck, Fugu), and copy the wallpaper image to one of two locations: /Library/Wallpaper; or if you have a customized theme, /private/var/mobile/library/Customize2. In Customize2, look for your theme you are building, click on it, and scroll down to wallpaper.

No, I have windows but I did install WinSCP and can see my files. Where do I put the wallpapers on my phone in Customize if I just want to use the images, not an entire theme?

I have tried placing the image in the mobile/library/wallpaper folder and I can't find it anywhere. I have created a folder titled "Wallpaper" and placed it in the customize 2 folder and still can't find it, also I put it in the Summerboard folder and I see the Wallpaper folder but when I choose it as a background it uses my locked image as the wallpaper for the main page.

if you sync your pics to your phone you can use them as your wallpaper

Can I use them as the background on my icon page or just on the locked page? Where do I find them in Customize or Summerboard?

The mobile/library/wallpaper will allow you to use the wallpaper as your screenlock paper. After you've transferred the file to your device, go to Settings/General/Display/Wallpaper and you should be able to see the wallpaper you just installed.

If you have Customize installed, go to Customize Images/Sounds/Wallpaper/Wallpaper. You should be able to see the name of the theme you just inserted the wallpaper into the wallpaper folder. Tap this theme, and tap the apply button on the top right corner of the screen. Push the home button and the springboard will restart.

The camera pictures are in JPEG and can't be directly transferred to the wallpaper folder. They need to be converted to PNG and then copied manually to the appropriate wallpaper folder.

if you use customize 2.0 u can use them as your background on your homescreen and lock screen or just one

you dont need to convert anything. if you sync the pics through itunes you can use any of them as your wallpaper
EDIT: i just reread what you said. you dont need to transfer the pics to the wallpaper folder, but when you look at your pics on the iphone there is an option that lets you use that pic as your wallpaper

Thanks for the responses but I'm not having any luck yet. I'll put down step by step what I'm doing and maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I have jailbroke my phone and installed Summerboard and Customize 2 (which I have been mainly using).

I found a batman pic on this very message board, I created a folder called "MyWallpaper" and saved the .jpg batman pic into the folder. I converted the .jpg batmat to a .png file using photoshop. I then opened WinSCP and logged in. I opened the mobile folder and found the customize 2 folder. I dragged the "MyWallpaper" folder over to the customize 2 folder and opened the customize 2 folder and saw in the list "MyWallpaper". I clicked on the customize icon on my phone and chose "customize images/sounds" then chose wallpaper and then wallpaper again and looked down the list of folders and my folder is not showing.

I then dragged the "MyWallpaper" folder into the Summerboard folder under themes and I can see it on the phone but when I choose that theme it makes the picture on my locked screen my background on the icon screen.

I also copy and pasted the batman.png into the library/wallpaper folder and I can't find it in customize or summerboard.

What am I doing wrong?
