Default Exact Area?

When you turn on your phone, it shows the date and time junk at the top and the slide at the bottom. Does anyone know the exact area between the two displays? 320 x ABC? I like to make my own wallpapers but a lot of times they end up sucking because an important part of the wallpaper will be behind the slide bar or the date and time . I looked around for it but no one seems to have asked it. Thanks.

based on rough estimates using a ruler accurate to 16ths of an inch, I'd put it at about 320x260-265... Though it would be an even number, I'd bet.

The height of the middle space is 1.625" (1 + 1/8) and the total screen height is about 2.9375 (2 + 15/16)... total vertical resolution is 480 pixels.

you made a little error there. 1.625 is 1 + 5/8. 1 +1/8 is 1.125. might be important might not.

I usually start at about 100 pixels from the top, example;
