3 weeks ago you could have there is no way to modify your phone and look at it now.

I was wondering the same thing if you could have animated widgets (icons).

It would be cool.

I don't know if this would be possible because I don't see how you could make an animated .png. Most of the time, the animated stuff is a .gif.

I have been reading about APNG, it's an animated PNG. Now, to get that on the phone is another thing.

I didn't say that, I knew it was not only possible to hack the iPhone I figured it would be done in short order... and it was.

Right now, without Apple changing something, it is impossible to animate icons and wallpaper.

Hacking was not made possible by Apple and yet you have hacked the phone. My post was in no way to attack you. It's like saying you should never ASS-U-ME. I was saying "Where there is a will, there is a way".

If there are no animated PNG's, then what are APNG.

I heard that any audio file that plays on the iPhone can be used as a ringtone when put in the right folder. Maybe this is the same with photos. The phone doesn't go "That doesn't have a .png extention and doesn't have the right name or file size! I'll ignore it!" I assume it goes "OK list all the images in this folder, no problem"

You can try to use Video avatar to create animated gifs, it's very easy
