SDK & Summer? - iPhone 3G

Hey yall its been a while since I've stopped by, but I wanted to see if there was any more info on the App Store from iTunes and its release date? I know Jobs said sometime in summer, but have there been any potential release dates?

The iPhone 2.0 software is coming sometime in June, and the 3G iPhone is rumored to come out on June the 9th.

Ok I'm a lil confused as usual. All we know right now about the iPhone 3G is that it will have 3G. Will the SDK update work with our current v1'? or are they forcing us all to get the 3G edition to take advantage of the SDK programs? I'm gonna be hotter than hell's fish grease if 3G hits the streets in June and the actual iPhone V2 drops around Christmas.

OK, let me ask this > I obviously need to wait to install the new update when released so it doesn't wipe my phone, right ? I paid a guy to jailbreak it because I don't have a ton of free time so, what can I do to backup all my files etc ?

The apps from the apple store developed with SDK have nothing to do with 3G.

Thats understood. But I just have a gut feeling that iPhone 3G will be something different from iPhone2. Just like no one was really expecting an iPhone 16 gig to come out. We were all lusting for SDK since Feb. I just feel some awkward, bass-ackward sales stunt is about to pop off.

It's gonna be just fine. Deep breaths, everyone. The SDK was announced for iPhone 1.0. Remember, they haven't even announced the new phone yet, so everything you've heard about, software-wise, is for the phone you currently own.

Im aware of the software being for both versions. What I'm saying is I dont want to end up spending $400 on a 3G version & a 3G chip is the only addition. Then around Christmas time I'll wanna shell out another $500 for iPhone v2 thats going to comes with every missing feature v1 & the 3G phones didnt have.
