This is a great solution no doubt!!

However, I only need the push feature for mail. Therefore, I have my Gmail forwarded to a push Yahoo account. It was easily set up on 1.1.4, but I am having trouble setting up my outgoing server to appear as my Gmail address when I reply to the email that came into the Yahoo account. Could anyone post instructions on how to set up the outgoing server when using my push Yahoo account, but make the email appear as it's coming from my Gmail address? I can't figure it out on the new 2.0 software. Thanks for any help you could provide.

"Push" means that the email is sent to your iPhone, or other device, instantly instead of you having to go into mail and check for it. It would be like the mailman bringing your mail to you instead of leaving it in your mailbox.

Gmail isn't push (unless you have your Gmail account forwarding to another account that is push). Jpettigrew described it correctly - the difference is in how your iPhone gets the email. With Gmail (no push), your iPhone must access the server on its own to check for email. When it finds email on the server, it downloads (fetches) it. With a push email account, the email server reaches out to your iPhone and notifies it that new email is available and "pushes" that email to it without your iPhone having to do anything.

Push email tends to be faster (and more desirable) because it's almost instantaneous delivery of your email, whereas the shortest interval you can set your iPhone to go find any new email is 15 minutes (and that setting will kill your battery sooner).

Push will kill your battery even faster than fetching every 15 minutes though, as I've found out.

Its not working for me. I have everything set up as it said to and the phone said that it was set up correctly. But if I email the Mail2Web account I signed up with or the gmail I have set to forward to the Mail2Web, it doesnt work. It just keeps checking and checking for mail over and over and doesnt stop, even on Wi-Fi. Now my Yahoo mail I had set up is doing the same thing...so I'm guessing its something with the phone. Any ideas?
