So let me get this straight. The message will get pushed to the phone. Can I respond through that same exchange mail account or do I have to go to a different account, or online to the gmail site?

TIA

Okay, so now my e-mail is set up and I can send emails and it doesnt keep trying to send. But my gmail email is set to forward to my mail2web email and it does, however, its not push. I have all my settings right and everything. How can I get it actually pushed??

Edit: My e-mail just came in on its own without me having to check and without the "fetch" settings. It took like 3 or 4 minutes to come. Is there anyway it can be truly push? How is everyones else working? Is there a small delay like mine? or is yours actually "push"?

Edit X2: My push e-mail, contacts, and calendar are working flawlessly. It only took a restore, and a little bit of time of it being set up before it started working perfectly.

I set one up yesterday, and it never worked. When I tried to log in, I was informed that the server was not responding; the issue is still persisting. Also, when I tried to sync my contacts in Address Book to it via iSync, the progress indicator went on forever. Plus it doesn't have iCal support, which is a problem for me. Great idea, but it needs some work.

two questions

1) i got everything working, however, the only annoying thing is, once the email is pushed to my phone, i open it up nd read it and then i gotta deal with the phone dinging again as the email appears in my gmail account receiving the email as it checks that account too. I cant remove or turn off the gmail account because if thats not there, i cant easily change the from box to my gmail email when i respond to an email.

Im also worried about setting gmail to archive everything after it forwards because then if im only around my computer i will never know i got an email.

does anyone have some kind of comprimise solution here or is everyone dealing with one option or the other? I wish there was an option to have fowarded emails marked as read rather than archived.

2) I wanted to turn on sync calendars but it said everything on my phone calender would be deleted? as long as thats in my ical everything i safe right?

i seem to have come up with a compromise for issue #1.
if you go to your gmail account settings and fudge up the incoming server by a letter itll stop incoming mails from coming in and you wont get the error message unless you open that mail itself. itll also allow the emails to come up on the computer so you wont miss them when youre not around your phone. And since your outgoing mail server is still set up right, you can still send mails from your gmail account name.
