Nope - the V1 1.0.0 -> 1.1.3 was mostly fixes, and the 1.1.4 had the feature of moving around on the Springboard..so I guess the 2.2.1 will be fixes...nothing new under the sun!

according to my sources, copy and paste is coming in the 3.0 software and no sooner, but MMS still looks doubtful as there would either need to be a separate MMS app or the SMS app would need a complete overhaul to make it work.

What I would like to see:
+ Turn-by-Turn GPS w/Voice
+ Copy and Paste
+ File Downloads

There are probably more but I can't think of anything right now.

@Skol312000: What's with your sig? "...no video recorder or copy/paste." They have both of those things if you jailbreak it.

I'll guess we see some MMS from our carriers! In Sweden their got it!

I don't think we'll see anything until Apple stops selling 3Gs like hotcakes. They're not hurting for business. What's their incentive for an update?

Tethering sounds like a good guess for the next firmware, but I agree that nothing "revolutionary" will come out until summertime with the next hardware revision. The software will of course trickle down where it can to the current models.
