Just keep your data usage under 5 GB a month and you should be fine.

The iPhone data plan is unlimited. However, some people say there is a soft 5GB cap. Meaning your account may be flagged if you exceed that amount. The reason for this is that it is uncommon to go over 5GB a month on a mobile device with WiFi capabilities, unless you are tethering.

If you are tethering and you go over 5 GB, AT&T might hit you with large data charges, although I've never heard of that actually happening to anyone. They can tell what browser you are using and if it's not a mobile version, they know you're tethering and there are no tethering plans at this time.

I tried it, and it seemed to have broke MMS for me.

Anyone else?

I haven't installed it yet. Go to Settings > General > About, and then post your FW and carrier version here.

If you have a firewall or use an app to hide your ip address, can they still tell what browser was used?

I don't know a lot about Mac address or IP address spoofing, but I don't see how either would block AT&T from being able tell if you are using a mobile browser or not.
