well, in a few days we will see in fact what 3.0 will bring to the table, or should i say ..network...i wonder if this any changes will take place with (us) app developers...
Now that it's official, I'm starting to think massive overhaul of the OS this time around. I'm guessing true multithreading and sandboxing as has been predicted. And I'm guessing all iPhones will be able to run it, but the new hardware coming out this summer will run it a lot better. That will be the incentive to upgrade.
It's quite exciting to think of what kind of CPU/memory they might put in the next iPhone to make this new OS really shine.
I think the near-perfect Trifecta would be: OS 3.0 includes background apps, copy&paste, better ways to manage apps / home screens, video recording, and permission for devs to come up with app launchers; plus big hardware improvements for a new model (CPU, battery life, RAM etc), and AT&T comes out with the rumored trade-in program so that it becomes a little more possible to think about the new model ...
