Installed OS 3.0 and iTunes 8.2 this morning. Great!
But... when I connect my iPhone 3G to PC it syncs and then, for no apparent reason and with absolutely no warning/error message, it disconnects after a short while. I have to unplug and re-connect to re-sync. This happens while transferring music to the iPhone mostly. Anyone else experiencing similar problems or know what I'm doing wrong???

Without reading through every single post here (which I think I've come close to) I think I've made a new and very nice discovery: The procedure of holding the sleep button till the red slider appears before holding the home button seems the only option to force close the Ipod, BUT; a way easier way to force close Safari is to just hit the two square little icon in the bottom right corner that allows you to X out open screens and just X them out to you get to the empty screen. Close Safari and it is really closed.

Updated to 3.0 on Wednesday. I put it to heavy use today. Safari has crashed at least 4 times today on assorted web pages. X GPS wouldn't lock a satellite until after a hard reset. I keep activating the spotlight search un-intentionally as well as the copy and paste feature.

Has anyone else noticed the new keyboard? If you tilt it landscape, the confirmation thing looks a lot bigger and the buttons are a bit brighter. I've also noticed my keyboard lagging a lot less and sometimes I used to have buttons not recognize but now it's all good so happy about this!!

Did you realize that the iPhone keyboard is smart? It actually changes the landing zone for your fingertip based on what you type. For example, if you type the word TIME, you press T I M and then the iPhone changes the landing zone for the letter E to be larger and reduces the landing zone for R and W because it know that no words are spelled TIMR or TIMW. It does this on the fly all the time. I think it is an amazing piece of code.

That is very cool - I didn't realize it worked that way.

Wow that's cool. But for some reason it's not getting bigger. Do you mean the sensitivity of those keys increases or something? Because I'm trying it now and in a couple of emails, and I don't see it. Still realllu happy with the keyboard right now.
