Huge Huge Problem!! :( :( - iPhone 3G

Dear friends,

My iphone died on me!! My wife was playing around and installing some stuff (god knows what she installed). After that every icon i touched had no reaction. When I tried turning it off and on, only the apple icon and a black background greeted me.
What seems to be the problem? Can I do a master reset? How should i do it? Coz when I plug in the usb cable from my macbook to my iphone, there was no reaction at all! Experts please help asap.

you need to download ziphone from www.ziphone.org and go in the advance options and click on normal mode, its gonna try to boot your phone, if that doesnt work you would have to do a restore!

ya you need to put in dfu mode if your comp doesnt recognize it to restore. hold top and bottom button till it turns off then let go of top button and keep holding bottom button till it says connect to itunes. if you cant do it try when its plugged in

I would suggest stickying a DFU mode restore guide as this question comes up a least twice a day, but I'm afraid these posts would persist anyway. *sigh*
