I have a yahoo account that I forward all my hotmail messages to. That way I get my hotmail on my iPhone and I have the free account.

I bought the mBox Mail application today as it is on a half price sale and I just have one question. How many times can you fail the passcode screen and what happens if you do? I don't wanna check it out myself unless it looks me out of the app or something, I'm just curious as there are no instructions on that.

hotmail works with 3.0, it auto finds the correct servers... no need to have another mail service, or forward messages... if you are 2.2.1 it more than likely won't let you auto configure... manual configuration is as follows:

Incoming Mail Server
Host Name : pop3.live.com
Username : name@hotmail.com (your COMPLETE email address)
Password : of course...

Outgoing Mail Server
SMTP : smtp.live.com

Advanced
Use SSL : ON
Server Port : 995

Hope this helps?

(on version 2.2.1)
Ok i got Hotmail added to my default mail thing, i can look at my inbox and it downloads all my mail. (for example everything like bwise05 mentioned)

I thought i was victorious, however...

...when i open a mail message there is no body, just a "this message has been partially downloaded" and a button to download the rest denoting a kb amount left, but shows up as 0. clicking that button did nothing.

Then i joined this forum to post this problem and while writting this i checked back on my phone and now all the mail is actually in there. so if you get that strange behaviour when you first set it up give it like 10 minutes or so to finish really downloading the mail in its entirety.

thats all. hooray for all my mail now working good!
