It wont accept my password then the screen with the OK button crashes.

did the same for me when I registered via iphone - go to the website (http://www.navizon.com/) on your computer and set user name password - then login via iphone...

Is that where it should be telling you that you are? Or is it telling you that you are somewhere not even related to your position?

It is working for me. It is no really true GPS as the iPhone does not have a gps antenna. But it is using the IP address of my wi-fi and work to determine my location.

When on edge I bet is users cell tower triangulation.
