that puts you in the minority. Most people have no problems with 2.1.0 at all.

No disrespect but are you baggin me?
See my latest post on "continued dropped calls" in the 3G area. All you need to do is stand in the apple store near the genius bar and watch how many iPhones they are replacing. While I waited today, they replaced 7 in a row for dropped calls all after 2.1 update. I was next in line.
I spent one hour with apple support on Monday, the guy told me the call volume for dropped calls and email connectivity is overloading the system . I spent an hour with ATT on Tuesday with dropped calls and email connectivity problems, the agent on the phone said "sir I am not sure what to do, we are having very high call volumes for dropped calls, I will put you up to my manager". When I went in to the ATT store today and mentioned dropped calls, I immediately got the deer in the headlights look.
While 2.1 did cure my lag problems and create quicker backups it definitely did not make mine and many other iPhones more reliable for the most rudimentary function of a cell phone, that is, making and receiving phone calls with a certian assurance that you are not going to have to call someone back multiple times to complete the conversation providing you have good coverage in the area.
I think it is wishful thinking to think most people have no more problems since 2.1.
