Date predictions of 2.0 - iPhone 3G

Predict here what date the 2.0 update in July will happen.

I'm going for the 8th.

I literally can't wait, my birthday is on the 29th so this will be like a late birthday present to myself :P

NEVERMIND, APPLE HAVE CONFIRMED IT WILL BE OUT JULY 11TH

hu? im sure that it will launch with the new phones pre installed thus making it available for all of us on July 11

But July 11th isnt 'early' July. If anythings its virtually 'mid' July.

Not in my eyes. Besides, if it was the 11th, why didn't he say it would be released the same time as the 3g?

JJ, Cloverfield is talking about the 2.0 software, not iPhone 3g. Cloverfield, there's a rumor that it might come out late this month actually, on the 27th. However, it's my bet that it comes out on the 11th as well.

Thank you John, I didn't realise JJ thought I was talking about the new phone.

It would be amazing if it really was the 27th, but why would he say early July if it was...unless, since the keynote, things have gone faster or something? I really hope it's not the 11th though

that is a long time a way and no where near 'early' july. It's 4 days away from mid July.

i also saw the rumor about the 2.0 release on 6/27, which would be fabulous. i'd love to get a sneak peek of the 2.0 firmware on my current iphone before getting the 3G one.

but i think it would make sense if they released it a little before the 3G iphone goes on sale to spread out the possible store traffic and support needs a bit between the two (if both are released on the same day, their genius bars and tech support lines would feel the crunch, versus if the 2.0 firmware were out a little sooner)...

i wasn't talking about the new phone.. i just think that it is coming on the new phones so we get it when they are released.. the 11th... i was using the phones as a time frame...

Well, you would have to suppose that 2.0 is finished for it to be on the 3G units that will be shipping to meet the 11th deadline. Therefore, 2.0 could conceiveably be out before the 3G hits the shelves... by as much as two weeks or so. So the 27th isn't unrealistic, but the 1st or 8th of July seem like better dates since Apple updates almost always seem to come out on Tuesdays.
