Default Checking iphone Firmware

When i dial than number on the emergency dial pad to check my iphone firmware under Versions nothing happens. I click dial but it doesnt do anything. Is my phone messed up??

Just go to Settings/General/About to find your firmware version.

no cuz i just bought it and its locked so i cant get to the main menu

I think your talking about your IMEI. You're IMEI is the phone's serial number in basic. Have you been typing *#06# ?

Thats Field Test Mode. It has nothing to do with what you want.

Can you not simply plug your phone into iTunes and read off the FW there on the summary page.

Hmm, just joining this month and trying to get info off a locked phone he/she "just bought". Sounds more than fishy to me.
