Default Can't launch Podcasts anymore from Safari

I'm not sure which version of 3.0 this started happening, but I'm really getting annoyed.

I'm now on 3.1.2 (iphone 2g, not jb'ed) and for the last couple of months, I can no longer launch podcasts or videos from websites in Safari. There are several sites that have always worked fine. When I've clicked on the podcast or video link, the QT player would launch just fine.

Now, it never works. I just get a bunch of jibberish on the safari screen.

Anyone know of a fix?

Case in point...I'm trying to launch a podcast on ESPN radio. Here's what I now get:
