He's wrong. In the device portal you have the option to modify any entry you have made, to include change the UDID, makes sense in case one of your testers replaces their device, you can modify their entry without losing a slot.

I think I'm going to sit this beta out until the official release because my iPhone is working swimmingly. No problems whatsoever! I also don't like the fact that they changed the baseband, which means you can't revert back to 3.0, I believe.

He definitely is one. Well there's a modify button for your slot so it is possible. I would tell him what to do so he realizes you either know what you are doing or know someone that does. Too bad you don't know anything about their account or you could threaten to turn them into apple! Or email apple your old UDID and tell them someone illegally added it

Some good things I am noticing about 3.1 is:
-speaker seems much louder than the 3G now
-something about compass seems smoother (might just be my imagination)
-mms ability is added back, carrier is updated to 4.2
-you can now edit video and save both the edited one and original
-seems to be charging faster, I hope that doesn't mean it will drain faster!

I also noticed the options for what's included for the spotlight function are gone under settings>general>home. Not a big deal just something I noticed.

Speaker on the 3GS is already MUCH louder than the 3G!

no, modifying the device udid also takes up a spot in the total number of devices that it uses. I just modified my device from my old 3G to my 3GS and it counted as a spot.

Yeah it definitely was much louder on 3.0, but on 3.1 it is ridiculously louder!
