Default 3.0 bug? "silent/ghost" SMS notifications

Is anyone else having a problem receiving SMS notifications? Sometimes when I get an SMS I'm not always notified for some strange reason.

For example, I believe it was last Saturday I woke up to a few missed calls and an event reminder, and nothing showed for incoming SMS. After I viewed my updates, I went to my home screen and noticed I had four new SMS messages.

Sometimes when my screen is locked, I'll open it and it will jump to a new SMS conversation without alerting me of a new SMS. WTH?? The same goes for when any new incoming message is received and I DO receive a notification. If I was in a previous conversation, it will just jump to the new one and open it automatically.

Also, if my phone is on vibrate and I get a new SMS, the phone will vibrate, however the SMS will take at least 2-3 seconds to display that I have a new message. I remember on 2.2.1 it was instant.

Is it just me that this is happening to or are others experiencing this as well? I hope this is addressed in 3.1 if it is a known bug. I still get LAG on my phone and I am NOT jailbroken at this current time, although I'm feeling the urge.

Yeah firmware 3.0 is quite buggy! My lags to, and my batterylife sucks! But firmware 3.1 is right around the corner, so we'll just have to wait, and hope things will be better.

Have you tried to restore the device? It may fix the problems (Besides the battery)

Ace!

Yes, I restored once the "official" version was pushed out by Apple. Still the same problem. Also, my phone likes to reset itself sometimes when I'm using it in the car as an iPod. It's happened twice now.

Hmmm! I don't know what the problem might be, so i think the only solution is waiting for 3.1 to be released. Oooor, maybe some other people here can help?

Hello?! We need some help here guys!

I have a 3G and I've noticed this the last day or so with missed SMS tones. I hope this gets rectified.

Has anyone reported this to apple?

I also get the missed SMS tones. It's becoming annoying.

Mine didn't go as extensive as phone calls but i noticed a few times on my 3gs that even though i have the ringer up all the way it will only vibrate and sometimes lag a little.

I have also noticed this bug.. It happens quite often where I'll see my phone light up, as in a new message, but no sound or vibration was ever made.. Other times it will just vibrate.. Very odd?!..

As you can see, I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS using OS 3.0
