Default YellowSn0w (Iphone Unlock Software)

Has anyone tried it???

Im thrilled to see that it works with 2.28.00 baseband, and finally unlocked my iphone without the use of a proxy sim (which by the way i bought and worked pretty well, but still had some signal problems)

now everything works the way it should be... i got 2.2 firmware, with 2.28.00 baseband fully unlocked...

so what was all the talk about that you couldn't unlock your 3g if you upgraded to 2.2 firmware? seems kinda weird to me that they would say something and then come out with something completely different???

That was when 2.2 was first released - they didn't believe the baseband upgrade that 2.2 performed could be reversed to perform an unlock properly. Now, however, it's quite the contrary - yellowsn0w only works with 2.2. They found a way around the baseband.

RELEASE INFO

Cydia source: http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/
Installer repo: http://i.yellowsn0w.com/

just add either one, and search for yellowsn0w in either one. you will find it. i did it thru cydia.

and to unlock that iphone, you will either need to use a proxy sim if its on 2.1, or if its in 2.2 firmware, then just jailbreak and use yellowsn0w as well...

I don't have a 3G, but I felt this article might apply:

Apparently the release of yellowsn0w is turning out to be a lot like that of MobileMe. It wasn't completely done being developed, and they pushed it out too early. I advise against trying to use it, as I've heard nothing but stories of people that do not have success with it.
