Make sure you follow the proper link in this post. Do not use the first link (that is for JB'ing 3G phones). The second link is for the original, first generation phones, like yours.
thank you for your speedy reply, thank you very much, i thought i was done, lol.

after trying again JB was a success, thank you again. i'm so happy now, hehe .

Lightbulb Steve Jobs or USB Cable?

Glad to be of service.

By the way, for future reference (for anyone)...the cartoon image of Steve Jobs will only appear if you have chosen to replace the boot image (with the Pineapple). If you choose not to replace the boot image, then if your phone ever goes into recovery mode, you will see the stock USB cable image with a message to connect to iTunes.

Hey Guys

I have an iPhone EDGE with 2.1 FW. I also have a Mac. Do you recommend using QuickPWN or PWNAGETool?

Depends on what what you want to do. Do you want custom logos, or to unlock, etc?

It's not available anymore. Download WinterBoard - it's far more advanced than SummerBoard.

There are many. First, Cydia is an open-source project (as is WinterBoard) while installer is not. More packages are available in Cydia, and the app has more features. It's about as stable and reliable as the AppStore, while Installer crashes frequently and can lock up the phone.

In other words, Installer is awful these days. Use Cydia.

Wow! I've missed a lot. I downloaded sbsettings, but where can I access it?

Any apps that you recommend to download?

Be careful of SBSettings! I uninstalled it and went back to Boss Prefs. SBSettings seems to restart SSH on reboot. Not only can this be a security issue, but it's a battery issue, too. Of course, if you have not installed OpenSSH, then it is a non-issue.

To access SBSettings once it is installed, simply swipe sideways the top status bar (where the time is).
